Welcome to the world of crazy quilting and embellishment.  Betty Pillsbury is an award winning textile artist and accomplished instructor.  Betty has appeared on HGTV's "Simply Quilts" and PBS's "Quilting Nebraska".

Her awards include over 160 ribbons for her needlework and the Embroiderer's Guild of America Educator's Award of Excellence.  Her work has been exhibited at many venues.  Please go to the gallery page for some beautiful examples.  You can find Betty's articles or photographs of her work in various publications.  Please go to the Bio page for more information.

Betty has been growing and using herbs for more than 25 years. Now that she and her husband, Dan, have settled in the northern Catskills, they have the opportunity to focus more attention on the herb business. In addition to their hand-made herbal products and the ever expanding herb gardens (over 250 herbs and counting!), classes on herbs will be featured this year.  Go to The Green Spiral link and the Classes link to find out more about our herbal stuff. Learning and laughter are delivered in equal measures in Betty's classes.  Come learn to embellish your world - and have a grand time while you do.

Contact Betty to get information about private embroidery or crazy quilting lessons.

NEWS:  Betty participated in the FiberArt for a Cause fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.  She made 3 postcards that were sold at the Houston Quilt show.  Betty also was consulted as the herb garden designer for the DAR house in Schoharie, NY.  The Albany Times-Union featured an article on Betty and Dan's herb garden in the summer of 2006.  Betty will be presenting an Herbal Study Program at her gardens in 2007, in addition to other herbal and crazy quilt classes.  The herb gardens will be expanding yet again in 2007, with 24 more raised beds.

Country Bumpkin, publisher of Inspirations magazine, awarded this web site its Bronze Bouquet award.  "Your website is simple and easy to use, with no unnecessary clutter.  The consistency in colour, formatting and head content helped to create the sense of a cohesive whole.  I especially enjoyed the gallery section as it is full of images - and what's better- in a resolution that allows the user to see the intricacies of the needlework up close.  The beauty is really in the detail and it's good to see such quality images of such wonderful work."
